We fought hard in 2025 for Americans without sufficient access to nutritious food.
Benefits Access
Since 2020, our multilingual team has helped more than 50,000 Americans successfully enroll in food programs, securing over $100 million worth of groceries for families in need.
Our team runs the National Hunger Hotline on behalf of the USDA, connecting tens of thousands of struggling Americans each year with food through food pantries, soup kitchens, and food banks, as well as through government nutrition programs.
When federal funding for the hotline was halted during the 2025 government shutdown, we used private funds to keep it fully operational as the call volume doubled.
Advocacy
When Congress slashed food benefits and imposed additional reporting requirements on food aid in 2025, we immediately provided states with concrete tools to ensure recipients could keep their benefits.
Innovative. Effective. Fearless.
Hunger Free America is a nonpartisan, national nonprofit organization working to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Since 1983, we have been committed to strategic advocacy and direct service work that strengthen one another. As a direct service provider, we assist low-income families obtain aid from government programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) so that people struggling to pay their bills have access to nutritious food.
